I've been playing music since I discovered the piano at age 3. While playing solo in the recording environment, I also play rock with "The Buffalo Joe Band", a decades-old band based in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.

Story behind the song
This was written just after I finished my Ohe Hano Ihu - Hawai'ian Nose Flute. This instrument was often used by young Hawai'ian men as a means of attracting a girl, hoping she would like the melody. As I wrote the song, a story took shape in my mind. A young man goes out early in the morning adorned in his finest maile lei. He plays his song - waits - then plays again a bit further off. As he does, the land around him comes alive with songs of birds. He soon realizes that he didn't attract a girl after all. As the sun rises over Hualalai, it is plain to see that he has enchanted the land itself with his song.
