This site has some live music from the RICK JONES SOLO TOUR (Guardian of The Realm) The recordings are from THE VIPER ROOM in Hollywood. Rick played guitar live and sang all vocals. The backing tracks all recorded by Rick @ Sun King Studios - CA. Also the tracks where 24bit/96k DAT straight into the board. Story behind the song
This is how it happened.. I'm at the station through tons of snow in Aspen @ the abc center. My boss lady who is 15 years younger than me love her says "Rick you are just so lucky" I think uh oh sounds messed up . What? You got the Stephen Stills Interview. I;m glowing, when does he get here? She yells down the hall way he's calling in. Oh FFF@! I've never done a phone call pipe in yet! She says well get ready! When's he calling? She says in 10 minutes. Again the F thing as I run to the booth. 5 minutes later he calls, and we say hi on the air and I'm so freaked out that I hang up on him by pushing the wrong buttons on the board. I didn't know the number to call him back and made a joke on air that these stars want shorter and shorter interviews. And played a song, like I meant to do that. You can hear him joke about it on the recording. I nearly had a heart attack that day, and haven't shoveled snow yet today ugh Aspen
