Hi Folks, The Bard Insurgent here. My comrade D.O. (the Poet Roofer) and I got that handle (The Bard Insurgents) from traveling town to town performing songs and poetry about people's lives. I've been performing since I was 3 years old, cutting my vocal chords on liturgical and classical music. I was a concert soloist as a child, when I wasn't herding cows, throwing hay and shoveling manure. During the Civil Rights movement and the Vietnam war, I began writing songs about social change. I left the country in 1970 and my dozen years in other countries, mostly in Africa & South America, have provided a global perspective to my music. My travels helped me realize that people all around the world are essentially the same in their basic life needs and their desires to live peacefully in their communities. These experiences have informed my commitment to working for international understanding as I organize at home. A powerful way to educate and inspire is with music. I tell people's stories, do social commentary with a touch of satire that I hope you enjoy and share with your friends, as well as sing together in the streets and in your living rooms. I also have children's music written for the children in my life with Jacob and Kayla as primary muses. Looking forward to seeing you on the road, Tom

Desiree Fairooz was arrested at Jeff Sessions confirmation hearing for laughing, actually snorting
Lyrics
My life flows on gainst endless wrong midst congress lamentation In Russell building with the throng for senate confirmation Jeff Sessions he, supremacy is based on pigmentation Absurdity, how can he be attorney for the nation Desiree was there that day, along with Tighe and Lenny When Shelby, of equallity, said he knew not of any As qualified as Sessions, why, I thought he must be gaffing To say he treats all equally, how can I keep from laughing Now Sessions says the KKK meets with his approval And to disagree with bigotry is cause for your removal Cant criticize the tyrant lieswe need some polygraphing Amendment one, against the law, how can I keep from laughing? Dragged out by the armed police, handcuffed, held all day Fingerprinted, photographed, I think of MLK They find me guilty and I wonder where they get this staffing A mockery of liberty, how can I keep from laughing? Well, Tighe and Lenny got 10 days, but it was suspended And Desiree got vaca---ted; trial was upended Said judge the guys must stay away, 6 months is their probation For their portrayal of betrayal with this confirmation. And Desiree, the price to pay, another trial pending But in the fray, we cant obey corruption never ending When after months of days in court led by prosecution Ruled to be guilty of a chuckle, disdain in her elocution Frivolity, necessity, confronting the riff-raffing To save a sense of sanity, how can I keep from laughing
