Story behind the song
This song deals with the idea of pretending that your life is one way but then having that all unravel - and the mindset of that change.
Lyrics
Here we are at the boarderline, looking back at all the fires; It’s a long way from where we had started. Wishing everything was justified just in time, But the lies all seem so dry. Off the side and it’s all there, waiting, But the moment passes by. Now I cling to what I have to say - 81 is just the start. There’s a never ending tale that I can’t hide. Morphing scenes to cover changing signs. Hiding who and where and why. Making everybody follow my lines. And it goes on and on and on and on It goes round and round and never slowing down… Here we are waiting for the smoke to hide the roads. Tell them just enough to make me bold. You never knew then who I really was - that’s the line. Driving up to live the shaggy life And it goes on and on and on and on It goes round and round and round and, on again it goes On and on and on and on and Round and round and never slowing down…. It’s just unraveling… There’s a lifetime of wonder in every moment I spent There’s a moment of life in every wonder I left I wonder if there’s a moment that I can try to get back? I can feel my life slipping and it’s life that I lack You never wanted to know, just where I finally would go I never felt so alone until I knew I was low You never wanted to hear the way I wanted to be You never thought I would fall apart the way that you see I’ll blame your naivety for this planned unraveling.
