Decaying Orbit is an experimental, unorthodox, highly diverse & genre-splitting band from Texas led by their infamous front man Mike Ash. "No, this music's not about that, it's not about sound quality, it's about passion." - Mike Ash. Decaying Orbit is produced by their label, Decaying Enterprises Productions and has released many studio albums since they formed in 2008, after the violent break up of the Psychedelic Rock band, Strangefire, of which Mike was the former front man. Decaying Orbit believes in unadulterated musical & creative freedom, Mike describes their music as a "cathartic purge" or "nervous break downs caught on tape.". The band believes that creating music is a sacred, spiritual and magical art form brought to them by the Muses, wraiths and demons hidden just beyond the veil between the worlds of the physical and spiritual realms. Decaying Orbit has traveled beyond the veil and into the realms of the spirits, only to reemerge, like a caterpillar from it's cocoon emerging as a beautiful butterfly, so does Decaying Orbit get reborn through the fire of their cacophonous tunage. The band believes in complete freedom of lifestyle, I.E. sexuality, religion, spirituality, drugs, manner of dress etc. They believe that music is an interstellar language that needs no translation to be understood by absolutely anyone. It's the passion behind the emotions found in the music that matters to Decaying Orbit, they believe that integrity is more important than fortune or fame. This is our Decaying Orbit & we do hope that you will N'Joy tha' show!!!!

Story behind the song
"She was a spitfire! She was my Mom, what went wrong?!?!" - This song is pure catharsis caught on tape.(yes it is sooo old that it was recorded on cassette tape!!!!) Writing & recording this song was my way of dealing with the terrible loss of my Mom. I was utterly devastated & the grief of her loss pervaded my life entirely. Her untimely passing left me alone with my alienation once more. To make things worse, my entire family fell apart after my Mom's untimely passing. My sister blamed me for not showing up at the hospital to say I Love you & goodbye, even though it wasn't my fault that I didn't get to go. It was all unbearably unfair & tragic & I have never been the same since. I miss my Mom every day of my life, every time I look in the mirror I see her face staring back at me. We had a short couple of years together & they were two of the best years of my life. plus, I wrote & recorded some of my very favorite tunes during that time. Oh & BTW the title "Bouffant Ghetto" refers to my Mom's house, I called it her Bouffant Ghetto.
Lyrics
bruised & broken, we're true & chokin', forgivin', givin' in, smoke a little hash, I don't know if I'm breathing half-assed, well maybe now, she was a spit fire, she was so strong, she was my Mom, what went wrong? what went wrong?!?!?! oh well, fine and we're back to square one, back to where we begun, I think you'd agree, I hope you'd agree with me, come on help me, come on sit on, smoke a little grass, maybe we'll make it half-assed, she's the matrix of this, it's just a piece of shit, in the closet where no one sees, no one sees the pain, I break, insane, I break, pull my flowers off of me, pull my flowers off of me, oh a big-pig-cocoon, you know where I'll be, I'll be there for you, it's nothin' it's nothin' it's nothin to me.... it never bends, it never falls apart, bends, falls apart... she was a spit fire, she was so strong, she was my Mom, she was so strong, she was my Mom, so strong, so strong, so strong, so strong, it's not over, it's not over, it's not over, it's not over, Momma come back home to that bouffant ghetto you call home....
