Story behind the song
Inspired by the thought how trees are in a constant struggle with each other. Trying to get their piece of the sun.
Lyrics
Our Place {In The Sun} [21.03.2013] (A) Is there that much difference? We're born and then we die. Some would say but I don't know we're the only ones who cry? Cut us deeply don't we bleed? Shiver and go numb? Then return to the soil where we all are from? Break: (A) We're really not that different. Take a look around. We cultivate, kill if we must to hold our piece of ground. Search until we find a mate, together build our nest. Protect and raise our families while trying to do our best. (B) There are some who think dominion is our human right. But no one has the right to rule conquering with might. Everything beneath us, above us and out there  controls it's own destiny and that's something we all share. (A) We need to give this planet room to stretch, room to breath. There's no human bubble, we all have what we need. We strive to find a place here where we can live and run. Fight for space, for life, for peace and our place in the sun. (Tag) Just like are fellow creatures we want our place in the sun. Copyright © 2013 by Douglas Murphy
