Story behind the song
DrC - All sound effects, keyboards, arrangement, mixing/mastering. Gary Carciello - Guitar solos Rob Grant - Bass guitar. Farrell Jackson - Songwriter, all vocals, and rhythm guitar. The song lyric is based on The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. I believe most are familiar with this short story written by Irving Washington and first published in 1820. There have been many cartoons, stage musicals, and film adaptation of this story over the years so I thought it would make a good Halloween song. It was a bit challenging to tell the tale in 4 short verses but I did my best. Many thanks to DrC, Gary, and Rob for helping me bring this song to fruition. Farrell Jackson
Lyrics
The Legend (intro) BOOooooooooooooooooo This is a tale that will make your hair turn white Ichabod Crane disappeared one October night A Hessian Trooper was searching for his head He might have laid claim to Ichabod’s noggin instead (V1) You better watch out for Mr. Pumpkin’s ride He lurks in Tarry Town searching for his prize It’s on someone’s shoulders but square in his eyes (Chr) Just another night, another spooky night in Sleepy Hollow Mr. Crane take flight…..you might not have your head…..tomorrow (V2) Well Brom Bones wanted Katrina for himself None was prettier or of such health But Ichabod was foiling Mr. Bone’s future wealth (Chr) Just another night, another spooky night in Sleepy Hollow Mr. Crane take flight…..you might not have your head…..tomorrow BOOoooooooooooooooooooo (Solos) (V3) Ichabod left the party, down the darkened road He was startled as the headless horseman rode There was the steed and a swinging sword (chr) Just another night, another spooky night in Sleepy Hollow Mr. Crane take flight…..you might not have your head…..tomorrow (V4) From that day Brom walked an all too knowing strut (What did you do?) Some say Crane’s headless in a roadside rut (Shame on you) Others say he ran back to Connecticut (Chr - twice)

Awesome! Love those guitars and that bass is smookin'. Great vocals. That guitar solo at 2:38 is awesome. You should have submitted this to the CC Halloween Challenge Farrell. It's a first class track - bravo all!

Cool lyrics, especially those in the catchy chorus. Enjoyed listening to this one. Nice guitars and production in general.

Great lyrics and really fine vocals on this blues ditty. I like the shuffle blues and guitars are really cookin', another great one.
