On his third solo album Peter Gabriel eliminated cymbal usage. But what if you threw out the rest of the drum kit as well? And used bubble wrap in its place?

Strange music for strange people.
Dollar Bill and The Unmentionables has been recording slightly silly music since 1989. In 2010 we started making videos to stare at while the song plays. Genre: varies, sometimes within the same song even. Be sure to check out the video page, as many of the songs have super high-budget (i.e. $0) music videos

Story behind the song
Instrumentation: Percussion consists of four types of bubble wrap being popped or squeezed, plus the popping of two small inflated paper bags and two more plastic shopping bags. The rest is guitars, bass guitar, and a purely decorative miniature erhu that wasn't made well enough to be properly played. No hand claps or synths. And that "vinyl surface noise" is still just more pop music - made with very tiny bubble wrap.

Very creative composition. Love that effect, reminds me of Vai's "Yah Yah" Cool tune!

This would have probably stopped ol Frank Zappa in his tracks if he'd had the pleasure of hearing it ;) Absolutely inventive to the uber-max!

Caution! Creative genius at work! (or is it play??) This is so out of the box it defies description. Besides this menagerie of sounds and textures, I hear a lot of work. You are a wonderfully insane musician and composer. Bravo!

A very ground-breaking idea using bubble wrap for percussion. You are one insane musical creative intellectual songwriter. I like every thing about this one... from the appropriate clever title (Pop Music) to the imaginative musical content in this track. Bravo! Ha!

I didn't recognize Peter Gabriel in here, but you told so. Very clever and funny. You must be crazy (in a nice way, of course) to come to such an idea. How is the original of this track called? Maybe it's interesting to compare and see what you exactly did with it. Really enjoyed it and it's really very cool!

Just about as good as any tune can get. Gentle Giant meets somebody? I can't figure out who. Very innovative and musically complex. And did I mention humorous?

Very, very good. Impressive stuff, clever idea - a brilliant song for a novelty challenge. Love that squeaky ending, lol. Bubble wrap...can't resist popping it...no matter how much we try not to, lol.
