Homeless man singing of his troubles
onthestreet
Artist picture
I have been writing from the time I could play my guitar at 12 years old, I'm 72 now and for the last few years I've been writing Christian music.
I'm a good ole boy from Georgia. As I've gotten older, I feel I have a calling from God to write Christian music. There are enough of my old lady done left with my dog songs. I'm sharing the good news of Jesus to an increasingly damaged world.

Story behind the song
I worked with a man that was homeless for a while, gave me the idea for the song.
Lyrics
Man on the street 2013 By Donnie Priest/August 76 Music Politicians ride in their fancy cars Meeting after hours in exclusive bars They say theyre looking out for us But what they say, I just cant trust So many of us are looking for a job Others are paying taxes feeling robbed Peeing down our back they call it rain Theyve got no idea of our pain (Chorus) Out here where the cold wind blows When will this end? nobody knows If by chance we should meet Im the man out on the street Two years laid off from my work Lost it all, but my pants and shirt The wife finally called it quits Cant blame her I have to admit Going through somebodys trash Looking to recycle for some cash Guess I was where I shouldnt have been Did some time in the county pin (Chorus) Out here where the cold wind blows When will this end? nobody knows If by chance we should meet Im the man out on the street (Bridge) Bad decisions with bad luck Put me here things arent looking up Will work for food, my sign reads A second chance is all that I need (outro) Out here where the cold wind blows Where Ill sleep tonight I dont know If by chance we should meet Im the man out on the street If s nothing changes before we meet Ill be the man out on the street
