I've always thought that this was a good song. I only know the Dr. Hook and Marianne Faithful versions, but I'm sure there are other versions out there. A simple 3 chord song...so pick the key that suits your vocal range and off you go.

Major Snagg is the invented name of the 'band' that perform all my own musical creations. (songs and instrumentals). I play guitars, bass, rudimentary keyboards, harmonica, and sing. Melody has always been important to me... lyrics and guitar solos have to say or communicate something. I create musical worlds that I hope that you dear listener, will also want to explore and live in for a few moments...or longer if you feel that way inclined.

Story behind the song
Just for your information...this is in C...C/F/G...solo section is just C/F/C/F. As usual though, I couldn't resist a bit of a 'guitar adventure', in the end section ! a fun song to do. Hope you all enjoy it. I must state that this particular Lucy, is in no way related to the Lucy in my, 'Looking for Lucy' album... or is she...maybe Lucy Jordan was her mother? we'll never know
Lyrics
The morning sun touched lightly on The eyes of Lucy Jordan In a white suburban bedroom In a white suburban town As she lay there 'neath the covers Dreaming of a thousand lovers 'Till the world turned to orange And the room went spinning round At the age of thirty-seven She realised she'd never Ride through Paris in a sports car With the warm wind in her hair So she let the phone keep ringing And she sat there softly singing Little nursery rhymes she'd memorised In her daddy's easy chair Her husband, he's off to work And the kids are off to school And there were, oh, so many ways For her to spend the day She could clean the house for hours Or rearrange the flowers Or run naked through the shady street Screaming all the way At the age of thirty-seven She realised she'd never Ride through Paris in a sports car With the warm wind in her hair So she let the phone keep ringing As she sat there softly singing Pretty nursery rhymes she'd memorised In her daddy's easy chair The evening sun touched gently on The eyes of Lucy Jordan On the roof top where she climbed When all the laughter grew too loud And she bowed and curtsied to the man Who reached and offered her his hand And he led her down to the long white car That waited past the crowd At the age of thirty-seven She knew she'd found forever As she rode along through Paris With the warm wind in her hair

It's always a musical education and a discovery for me when you do covers...I'm often not familiar with the originals and it opens up a whole new area for me. Never heard this song before, so it's great to hear it for the first time. Excellent performance, great job on the vocals, first class production and top notch stuff on the guitar!
