Story behind the song
Yeah so when I started writing the album Hunting Psirens, I had already done the lead title track of the same name but that occurred as track 6 which is where I believe the title track of an album should be (right in the middle) As a concept album of sorts I needed an incredibly powerful track to kick the album off. I was racking my brains and music collection for influence, and came to Holst's planets suite, namely Mars. I used the main crux of Mars to come up with the intro which is preceded by an ever increasing vortex wind sound which culminates in this kapowwwwmoment when the Mars esque intro comes in. As with any powerful tune you have to have subtle moments in there to play one of against each other and so I created a very simple but calming piano melody to accompany this, thrown in some very swerve tweeter esque fills and a middle 8 to give it that cool evil vibe, and hey presto a great tune was made. At the time of writing I wasn't very happy with it as a piece simply because I had spent so long on the production that some of my usual experimentation had to go by the wayside so it was more of a mature professional sounding record than my usual balls out rough approach. However once I uploaded to the internet it went down pretty well, and over the years I have come to think of it as one of my best tunes, I hope you all enjoy it, Peace out Ant ST.
