In the early 1960s I listened to UK off-shore Pirate Radio... Radio 270, Radio Caroline North ... and Radio Luxenburg. This is a sound collage of Radio Caroline & Radio London 'jingles', around two great songs...Love Potion#9... and Crimson & Clover

Major Snagg is the invented name of the 'band' that perform all my own musical creations. (songs and instrumentals). I play guitars, bass, rudimentary keyboards, harmonica, and sing. Melody has always been important to me... lyrics and guitar solos have to say or communicate something. I create musical worlds that I hope that you dear listener, will also want to explore and live in for a few moments...or longer if you feel that way inclined.

Story behind the song
I had a wonderful 'trip' down memory lane, recording and assembling this bit of teenage nostalgia. I was there as they say...oh boy, and they were great times to be a teenager. I'm still the same teenager at heart I guess.
Lyrics
Oh you probably already know them I guess or can easily pick them up. Love Potion #9 is quite easy...Am/ Dm/Am/Dm/C/Am/Dm/Am.../Dm/B7/Dm/E/E/E...repeat until you're had your fill :)

I've sat down to hear the whole album. I'm one minute into it. Literally, and I love it already.

Guess might be a Brit thing pirate radio? Never heard of them. But I know all this music. Love potion always a fan favorite. And Tommy James was always one of my fav American acts from the 60s he is from Pittsburgh, PA not far from me. A way different version of Crimson/Clover. No vibrato. Oh like the bass! He is cooking. Nice work

Very nice version of Love Potion no.9 Im a huge Dio fan and he actually did a version of this in the 60's and when i heard it, it became one of my favorite songs. I think its very cool to hear you perform it. :) Im not familiar with the 2nd track but i think you did a great job with it :) Excellent performance and production. :)

Yes, I remember the "pirate radio" nights. Very cool medley you've recorded here. Truth be told, I still sing and play "Love Potion #9" at gigs! (in Am). Have a Sunday funday!

Oh yeah...I remember the pirate radio stations! Used to listen to them late at night & they always faded in and out! They played music you didn't get on mainstream radio (album tracks) & the DJ's were excellent. Great job on the Love Potion No. 9 song, penned by Leiber/Stoller from what I remember. Love all the jingles, so nostalgic! Brilliantly put together - a great tribute to the pirates!
