Story behind the song
How can the creator of all things, who has control of all things, care about one little insignificant soul? But it was for people like me that he sent his only son to die on a cross for.
Lyrics
Another day has come and gone and I step out on the lawn and I gaze into the sky, And as far as I can see there are stars and galaxies and it makes me feel so small. And I wonder as I gaze if a billion miles away there is someone just like me, And if the Savior of his life, is my Lord Jesus Christ, What a kingdom His must be. Now there are people everywhere And they cry out in despair, they need God's touch to see them through. And there are those who sing His praise for they are seeing better days, But they request His presence too. Somewhere in the world there is a war, Somewhere else a fire, and a flood, and a land where there is no food. There's unborn babies dying, the streets are filled with violence, There's so much for a single God, so much for one single God, So much for one single God to do. And I can't believe, that a God with so much on his mind, Would give up a moment in time for someone like me. But for someone like me, he left the comfort of his home, He left the glory of his throne, he left the garments of a king, He left the praises angels sing, to walk the road to Calvary, To die on a cross between two thieves, For someone like me.
