Whether performing in an intimate folk club, a concert hall, or an outdoor festival, Ed Mc Dade, definitely reaches the audience. He brings a warm, baritone voice, lively guitar techniques, and numerous original songs culled from his three recordings(“Water Spirit”-with Gene Friesen of the Paul Winter Consort, "Radio Songs"-with the great European Folk/Bluegrass band Nugget, and "Cloak of civility"-with the American band McD). Ed also likes to include the music of other Folk/CountryBlues artists in his shows. Ed writes and sings songs of the human condition and songs that speak to important issues of today, in a style that is insightful to satirical, stark to soulful, serious to seriously funny. Story behind the song
Music did get me through those high school days!
Lyrics
Radio Song When I was just a kid, back in 1955, I got my first transistor radio. It was the newest thing on the block. I'd take it everywhere I'd go. Play me a radio song. So I can sing along. Turn off the commercials, turn the the music on, and play me a rodio song. Cruising down the street in a beat up Oldsmobile, music got me through those high school days. We'd crank it up, as loud as it would go; looking for a little hell to raise. Chorus Now I'm driving this old truck, down a dusty country road. There's no place I'd rather be. Thinking how these kids are growing just like weeds, while the radio play soft and sweet to me.
