The project started as a jam night a few years ago. Randy and Joseph with a mutual friend (Michael Desheles) would get together on Friday night and sing gospel and cover tunes. In the first year they would play a song written Randy called "Damn You". When Michaels work schedule changed he was unable to attend the jams session. That's when Randy and Joseph started moving their efforts towards writing songs. It's also when the name changed from "Randy Joe Michael" to "Randy Joe" It took about a year to write the songs for their first CD titled "Curse in Disguise". They really didn't have a specific direction they were headed, so the CD has some rock, country and blues. They recorded all the songs at Hi-Z Input Productions with the help of Harry Sharpe . Lyrics
Country as Hay’ll written by Randy Finchum and Joseph Mabalot) Hey my name is Randy and he’s Joe If you take one look at us you’d never know That are our souls scream the rebel yell I guess that makes us Country as hay’ll One comes from don’t really indicate What they are inside make no mistake We’ve never road a horse or sat on a hay bale But we’re still Country as hay’ll Naw we don’t wear cowboy boots, tennis shoes inside Sweats inside of over-alls and our neck aren’t red Our green grass is the concrete Mountain breeze the city smell But It don’t mean we ain’t Country as hay’ll Ain’t nothing wrong with NASCAR we think it’s great But we’d rather play our guitar, than what a race. We write songs that rock and drive like a nail Except this one, it’s Country as hay’ll Nah we don’t wear cowboy boots, tennis shoes inside Sweat inside of over-alls and our neck aren’t red Our green grass is the concrete Mountain breeze the city smell But It don’t mean we ain’t Country as hay’ll Nah it don’t mean we ain’t Country as hay’ll No matter where you live you can be Country as hay’ll
