Take a ride on the "Bluebird". Do not pass "Go", Do not collect $200.
Ardell is a rap artist like no other. His lyrics are written straight from the heart, based on personal experiences- good and bad. Never glitzy or watered down, his songs speak to people from diverse cultures and backgrounds, with a combination of skillful, intelligent lyrics, and jammin' beats that have been described as being more "musical" than most of today's cookie-cutter beats.

Story behind the song
In Texas, the bus that comes to transfer you from county jail to the state penetentiary is commonly known as the "Bluebird". Ardell tells his story as only he can. This song is what brought us together as a writer/producer team. Ardell came into my recording studio one day as a guest of some clients of mine. They were screening some of my music for songs on their album. When I started playing this beat, Ardell (who until this point had been silent and sitting off to the side) started rapping the first verse. I was immediately impressed with his writing skills, and asked him to go into the studio tracking room and put down the first verse and chorus. He was a natural. He had never been in front of a mic before in his life, yet he sounded like he was born holding one. The resulting track became the actual first half of this song- this was ONE TAKE recorded on a whim! A few weeks later, after several conversations with him in order to get to know him, I signed him to a deal. He recorded a double on the first verse and chorus and finished out the rest of what would become the first track recorded for his new album, "Come To My House", on Platinum Sound Records.
