Story behind the song
New Mesa Mini Rectifier Twenty Five (mesaboogie.com/amplifiers/electr…y-five/index.html) - putting it through the paces. I threw in a few riffs and recorded a Jackson Soloist with active pickup straight into the Mini. The mic is a dynamic AKG D880 (www.akg.com/pro/p/d880--d880-s) into Edirol UA-4FX.
Left channel rhythm is the "vintage" setting, right channel is the "modern", lead is on modern with gain all the way up. No effects on the rhythm tracks, as they were captured. I'm using MODTone MT-AD in the fx loop for the lead and some reverb from Studio One. The drums are EZDrummer DFH. Bass recorded via Ampire in Studio One. Didn't want to eq the guitar against the bass as I wanted to capture the Mesa Mini fully on this one, thus bass is mixed a little low and no eq treatment on the rhythm guitar.
Drums were treated with a little reverb and there is a limiter on the master bus to catch peaks.
