Broady, (bro dee), v., slang, 1. old school Philly term for making something yours that once wasn’t., 2. to takeover. Champ, (champ), n., 1. a person who has defeated all opponents, in a competition or series of competitions, so as to hold first place., 2. a fighter or warrior for a certain cause. The Broady Champs are a multifaceted collective including Marq Spekt (Spekt), abnormul (Buddy Leroy), N.Y.C.E. (New York City’s Exclusive) & P.G. (Point GOD aka Benito & La P.). Though based in ATL (Buddy Leroy now in Austin, TX) members represent Philly/Jersey, North Carolina, BKNY, & the Bronx respectively. Extended family (Dirty Needlz formed 2004) includes emcees Scholar Golden (original B.C.) & Solace Morner as well as producers Illa & D-Blok/Fobbed Out. Formed in 2000 by Spekt, the Broady Champs have taken the hip-hop underground by storm through multiple self-releases, radio invasions, and an unmatched stage presence. They have performed alongside many world-renown artists including KRSONE, Stronghold, Swollen Members, Big Jus, Scienz of Life, as well as many emerging acts such as Binkis Recs, StaHHr Tha Femcee, Vintage Imperial, & Ultra Maximus (Rhyme Wrekka). Even though they have been relatively absent from performing since 2003, they have stayed busy recording and releasing numerous projects as a collective, as well as solo artists. With summer 2004 just beginning, now is the time for them to bless the world with their newest creations via MF Grimm's Day By Day Entertainment.
