Greetings everyone, and thank you for visiting my music page on Soundclick. My name is James Stephen Green. Some folks know me by Steve, some know me by James. I'm from Natchez, Mississippi, though I've lived in several different towns over the years. Most recently, I lived in Gulfport, Mississippi, until Hurricane Katrina. I've been involved in music from a very early age. Music has always been an important part of my family. My dad plays music, my grandparents played music, etc. Over the past few years, I've begun to try my hand at writing songs. The songs you'll hear on this site are an example of some I've written. I generally write Country Gospel songs, though I've written a few secular songs as well. Give them a listen, and let me know what you think. I hope you enjoy them. God Bless.

Story behind the song
I was tasked with singing a special for the Father's Day service at First Assembly of God church. I couldn't find one that seemed appropriate, so I wrote this one.
Lyrics
When I was just a young boy not yet in my teens Thunderstorms would frighten me and ghosts would haunt my dreams But Dad would always be there to dry those tears away To keep me safe and shielded from the fears life threw my way. The Father's touch can heal the pain of things that make you cry The Father's touch can wipe the tears you thought would never dry When desperation's at your door, nothing can do as much As the healing hand and warm embrace of the Father's touch Now that I'm a grown man with children of my own My doubts and fears have changed somewhat but still they linger on But I have a Heavenly Father who is always by my side He'll never leave me nor forsake me, in Him my faith abides
