WITHOUT E is the result of many gigs with the guitar without the E-string. Because of playing hard and long.
The main Band named WITHOUT E exists since 1994 in the constellation: - R. Schrauf and V. Tavares - In the past, various musicians had the pleasure to complete the band experience in a lot of songs and sessions. Many thanks to: Andrea K., H. Kramer, Alex A., J. Ewald, Dr. C. Hohn, Judith H., S. Cedl, A. Rycoll, Marleen, -TRAP 5-, Julian S., T. Schoenfelder, M. Leck, K. Kraft [in cause] and many other musicians. In german, the WITHOUT E Story: Die Ursprünge der Band "WITHOUT E" reichen bis in die graue NDW-Zeit der frühen 80er Jahre. V. Tavares (Gitarre) und R. Schrauf (Gesang/Bass) komponierten seinerzeit im beschaulichen Nordhessen unter dem Pseudonym "SMASH" für den Eigenbedarf einfache, jedoch einprägsame Deutschrock-Hymnen. In den Folgejahren ergänzte sich die Studioband zeitweise um weitere Mitglieder (J. Ewald, St. Cedl). Nach einigen Soloprojekten und Ausflügen in anderweitigen Bands besannen sich V. Tavares und R. Schrauf Anfang der 90er Jahre wieder auf ihre fruchtbare musikalische Zusammenarbeit und gründeten die Band "WITCH", deren Besetzung sich um A. Blümer (Gesang), A. Rycol (Drums) und H. Jenss (Keyboards) erweiterte. Der musikalische Stil entwickelte sich zu einem aufwendigen Alternativrock. Nach ersten musikalischen Anfangserfolgen löste sich die Band aufgrund von musikalischen Differenzen mit dem Ausstieg von A. Blümer und A. Rycol jedoch wieder auf. Der verbliebene Rest (V. Tavares, R. Schrauf und H. Jenss) gründeten daraufhin die Band "WITHOUT E". Den Gesangspart teilen sich seitdem R. Schrauf und H. Jenss. Zeitweise wurde die Band um weitere Personen, wie einen zweiten Gitarristen (the great Alex) oder den Drummer M.- Martin-Leck ergänzt. Neben einigen (unvergesslichen) Live-Auftritten ist WITHOUT E überwiegend eine Session- und Studioband geblieben. Die musikalische Bandbreite der Band ist sehr vielfältig und reicht vom schlichten Hardrock über atmosphärischen und akustischen Werken bis hin zum progressiven Alternativrock. Der Bandname resultiert im Übrigen aus zahlreichen Sessions, bei denen Gitarrist V. Tavares seine Solis mit einer gerissenen E-Seite zum besten gab. Aufgrund des unglaublichen Repertoires von Songs aus 40 Jahren Bandgeschichte werden die besten Stücke nun sukzessiv der Allgemeinheit veröffentlicht. Die Band wünscht viel Hörvergnügen !
