Mina Harker (aka Drac's girl) spends a night in Dracula's Castle in Transylvania and is awaken by a swinging band of musical monsters led by their band leader Count Dracula on harpsichord. A mystery guest arrives to sing.
Count Spectacula and Lady Batnika teamed together to create this funny Halloween song collection called The Frankenstein Files.
This is a comedy Halloween Music CD that mixes many musical styles with neat scary and funny themes.
Story behind the song
This is the most complex of all the Frankenstein Files songs. The total effort to score, sing, fine-tune, and mix this work was no swinging matter. "Mina Harker" is one of the main characters in the novel "Dracula" and in this song, she finds out that Dracula is really a big band leader at night and a gang of monsters are the musicians.
Lyrics
I stayed in my castle room alone
One night I heard strange sounds below
I peered into Dracula's Great Hall
And saw a crowd of monsters having a ball
With the Mummy on the trumpet
Frankie on the drums
Dracula on the harpsichord
While the Invisible Man just hums
The clock strikes midnight
The mystery guest arrives
It's the Bride of Frankenstein
In her emerald dress and wild hairdo
She creeps up to the mike to sing
"It don't mean a thing without that Transylvania Swing"
LET'S DO THE TRAN-SL THING, THE TRANSYLVANIA SWING
BACK IN THE CASTLE, IT AIN'T NO HASSLE
LET'S DO THE TRAN-SL THING, THE TRANSYLVANIA SWING
IT MAKES ME QUIVER, SHAKE AND SHIVER
The big band plays until sunrise
All the monsters must go and hide
The bandleader Drac sleeps all day
At sundown the monsters return to play
With the Mummy on the trumpet
Frankie on the drums
Dracula on the harpsichord
While the Invisible Man just hums
The clock strikes midnight
The mystery guest arrives
It's the Bride of Frankenstein
In her emerald dress and wild hairdo
She creeps up to the mike to sing
"It don't mean a thing without that Transylvania Swing"
CHORUS [2x]
