Lyrics
7. Suffering Lyrics by Eva Zarley, Music by Josh Woodward entitled “Private Hurricane” Spoken: There’s a sacrament seldom spoken of. It is the Job experience. The sacrament of suffering. In such times, theLord does a deep work in our spirits that is hard to embrace or understand. In our desperation, we are drawn closer to Him, even as we feel stricken and wounded, by the very one we love. Sing: Oh, Lord hear my cry in this dark night of my soul. I know that You are with me, even as I feel alone. You promised me that you would carry me through this time. Jesus, Jesus hear my cry I am alone, I’m weary of drowning in my dread and fears I am undone—with despair and sorrow, swallowed by my fears My enemies mock me, they say I haven’t got a prayer Surrounded by sickness and death Surrounded by loss—it takes my very breath Sometimes I wonder where You are Why heaven seems as brass Cover me, hold me My heart is breaking again Still I hope in You Still I trust in You Even if He slays me I will serve my King How can I confront the Holy One Creator of all things Angels blow to You, oh God, I must do the same Let my tears mingle with those of my Savior As He hangs there for me Shall I not drink of this cup, both bitter and sweet? Spoken: Suffering is a holy thing in the presence of God.
