Light-hearted song about an irresponsible loser.
The band is 'me' and friends who have so generously contributed to this effort.
Story behind the song
The title came to me one day...'a hundred good reasons' and decided it would be a good subject for a song.
Lyrics
Verse 1
I can’t save a nickel, I can’t save a dime.
I couldn’t save a dollar even if I tried.
Old friends and family avoid me like the plague.
There’s a hundred good reasons I should change my ways.
Verse 2
I never should have married, guess I’m not the type.
My bad reputation is hard on a wife.
I wrestle with tequila and sober up in jail.
There's a hundred good reasons I should change my ways.
Chorus
I’m out of money, nowhere to go.
Owe everybody in the world that I know.
Verse 3
I struggle every morning, always runnin’ late.
Supposed to start at seven, it’s twenty after eight.
Lookin' like a super fool strolling through the gate,
Boss man's awaitin' with scowl on his face.
I said I was a victim, someone slashed my tires.
He said son 'you're full of it' and told me I was fired.
Handed me a ticket for the south bound train.
There's a hundred good reasons to change my ways.
Chorus
I’m out of money, nowhere to go.
Owe everybody in the world that I know.
Wading through my troubles, aimless as a child.
Rumor is I'm lazy without a sense of pride.
Lookin' in the mirror for someone else to blame.
There's a hundred good reasons I should change my ways.
Chorus
I’m out of money, I got nothing to show.
Owe everybody in the world that I know.
