Lyrics
One Night Stand I walk the broken sidewalks, with my guitar in hand Searching for a dive,to sing my songs as a one man band Wouldn't you just know it,at the last song there she stands With a look in her eyes she tells me,i can't deny her plans She grabs my guitar, and leads me down the dirty boulevard Down the darkened street to a shotgun house,by an abandoned graveyard Then she hands me the key,and says i've got to turn it real hard And she shoves me inside,as if her love was no holds barred She told me light the candles,as she made a pallet on the floor Not once did i ask her name,or why she never told me before Then she closes the tattered curtains, walks over and locks the door She got me to thinking, should i give less or should i take more She hands me my guitar, and ask me to play her a song I thought for a second,i'd better not come on too strong So i sang a song full of blues, about a love that's gone wrong She said you know me much too well, that's where my heart belongs I noticed that the hands of the clock, held little time till morning We laid on the pallet, and gave our hearts no clue or warning We shared all we had to share, till the windows showed the dawning Then she drifted to the kitchen, put on coffee and let the dog in We drank a pot of coffee, then i gathered up my stuff I told her i enjoyed her company,as we picked the pallet up She walked me to the door and said, hearts are made to bluff Come back some time,i don't mind,if you didn't get enough
