Lyrics
Born on September tenth in the City of Long Beach
Screamed out in joy stretchin my arms finally feelin free
Nine months in my mothers stomach this the start of my story
Cause I can't wait to see what this world has in store for me
Grew up on East 52nd street, the last in my family
From K to 2nd grade, walked my way to Barton Elementary
But in due time, the 'rents soon packed their bags and headed east
Down the ninety one towards the rising sun on Fairbanks Street
We settled in the IE, this was Corona known as the Circle City
I made friends with the neighbor kids quite quickly
We hooped, we played ball between the lightpoles during the day
Its whatever the season was, was the sport that we chose to play
Rainy days brought us all inside to play on my super N.E.S.
There was no stress, just the Killer Instinct yo who got next
So as the clock ticks away and they all moved away, that was the end
Cause this was the life of mine from year one to ten
Junior high time it came and went, as I flipped tracks
Went to my first party when all the fellas were just trying to mack
On that beautiful girl, all just trying to get their first kiss
And be on their first high, that feeling of something so bliss
To share these stories in High School, It was La Sierra
From ninety nine to oh three, during these times it was quite the era
I was sitting the bench freshmen year, hoopin I had to compete
And ever since then I became the varsity star athlete
The All League, the MVP cause I'm sure when they all looked at me
Their first thought was always, "him? oh no that can't be"
Man what can I say from the first day to graduation day
I was afraid, but realized our real lives had to get underway
Started this new life in JC, I was a Tiger
Undecided on my path, so I turned to the pad, the birth of a writer
As this road cleared up, my days soon became sunny
Cause this was the life of mine from eleven to twenty
Legally ordered my first drink, adios went the health of my liver
As I experimented with various kinds of liquor
So I felt young and lost my inhibitions after each shot
Until each bar had its last call we were out in the parking lot
I was just trying to have fun as my focus soon slipped
My education took a break, I decided to work and put on my non slips
For the dirty bird working for tips and making friendships
The lasting kind like a two states away forever friendship
My mind strayed off into the abyss realized I wanted something more than this
Like Ted's "I'm too old for this" type list
So I soon gatherred my thoughts, redesigned my path to success
Took three deep breaths, and realized that I am blessed
I got up out of this rut, and proceeded towards each step
Gonna be diligent, stay focused and be intelligent
Make you proud and let the world know that they heard of me
Cause this was the life of mine twenty one to thirty
