Story behind the song
code in de node still, so what else was i to do. story behind the song: The wind changed ever so slightly. The diamond dusting of snow reflected the slight indentations of the hare's passing. The brush covered hillock, those few yards to the west, seemed to twitch slightly as a sliver of rock twisted in his direction. The scent now wafting toward him, carried an undercurrent of fear. Now overlayed by the her musk, the sliver turned north too late. As she lifted, the snap of her jaws chorused with the hare's neck, letting colour be birthed back into the world. She shared the morsel, red tinged fur lining her jawline, disappearing with each lick of her tongue. He wolfed his share, eating the snow around the kill, not only to quench his thirst. No sounds except their movements, and the brief flutter of wings as a sparrow in the thicket sought higher refuge. Another grey day deep in the shades of the forest. A low growl came from behind them as they finished their paltry meal. Whirling in surprise, he found himself bowled to the ground, pinned by the much larger male, whose teeth were embedded carefully in the soft under ruff of his neck. Submit or die, the ancient urges coursed out of his body, his thoughts for her lost to this new reality. Now a pack, the three moved on, hunting together, the larger male on occasion nose to nose with her. A dull ache flared again but he reminded himself of how and why he was still alive. The sun came out briefly, and the groundhog, previously unseen was exposed in glorious shadow. Copyright 2015 Bradley Garfield Needham All rights reserved
Lyrics
six more weeks without you another lifetime now didn't want to peer into the future but the rodent did anyhow six more weeks of facing truths i'd rather not have to see didn't want to appear the loser, the one who's not meant to be six more weeks, what is the sense what does it matter anyhow didn't want it to be this way but that's the way it is now six more weeks of pretending to fence around my dreams of don't care didn't want it to ever to change the rodent knows i'm too scared spring, its around the bend but i don't want this winter to end spring, its gonna arrive but i don't know how i'm gonna survive without you. spring, its around the bend but i don't want this winter to end spring, its gonna arrive but i don't know how i'm gonna survive without you.
