A up-tempo Folk-Rock song about a reunion of old friends
Folk-Rock, Country-Rock
Steve Domer has performed live across the US for over 45 years. He has won past songwriting awards in the American Song Festival in the late 1970's.
Currently records and produces original songs and performs live periodically as an acoustic guitar and vocals solo.
Story behind the song
Another collaboration with my friend Scott Loveall on the lyrics. Actually about the reunion meeting that restarted our collaboration.

I watched us prattle warm with nostalgia,
Blackberry sangria, Sam Adams, and smiles
While the years ran between us like honey, savored
A favored show we'd missed watching for awhile
It's like we've been on pause
Swallowed tears for what we lost
And smiles for who we’ve been and what we’ve gained
Then we press play
It seemed like yesterday
All the bonds we made, still remain
I listened as we straddled decades and datelines
Milestones and biographies
I wondered at the parallels, the symmetries, the mirrors
And our kindred geographies
It's like we've been on pause
Swallowed tears for what we lost
And smiles for who we’ve been and what we’ve gained
Then we press play
It seemed like yesterday
All the bonds we made, still remain
Now we've resumed from a frozen bookmark
Like a DVR that gets stuck
Meeting old friends, coming back home
A favorite novel we picked up
Just like jeans that fit
An old spark was lit
We were histories churning lost stories
Then we press play
It seemed like yesterday
All the bonds we made, still remain
When we press play
It seemed like yesterday
All the bonds we made, woh still remain
When we press play
