a collab with Tim Lowe - jazz/blues
rock piano vocals harmony funk jazz instrumental blues experimental rhythm and blues improvisation multi genre
Hi! I'm a guitarist, singer and songwriter currently living in Fredericton, N.B., Canada. I've been performing music in one way or another since the mid '60's, starting out singing tenor in a barbershop quartet with my brothers and then into a progression of bands playing rock, jazz, blues and country and... whatever. It's been a fun ride so far and I'm still as exited about it as the day I began. Ralph Atkinson

Story behind the song
This was a slow blues/dixieland thing that I sent to Tim. He added vocals, lyrics, sax, trombone, and a sense of humour!
Lyrics
I went down the street to the traffic light I went straight over, not left or right You may ask me why oh why That's the way I am, I'm a straight over guy I used to go down to the liquor store but it moved 'round the corner - I don't go there no more If you don't believe me, well just look in my eye I'm a straight over kind of guy. Well I know you, you know me we both know the price of tea and it's a shame, a crying shame but really baby I'm the one to blame because I, I love you so but what I think you're suggesting, well I don't know 'cause I'm shy, this time maybe I'll give it a try But usually, I'm just a straight over guy I'm just a straight over guy. oh yeah. oh yeah oh yeah. -Tim Lowe
