Welches has worked hard to become Hip Hops Next Prodigy. Welches the Newark, NJ-born lyricist has stayed on the grind and racked up an impressive list of accomplishments. Influenced by rappers like Biggie, Jay Z, Lil Wayne, and 50 Cent, Welches is set to take the Hip Hop world by storm with his smooth flow, innovative lyrics, dirty south swagger, and brilliant hooks.
Welches translates everyday experiences into universally appealing, yet street sensible music by touching on subjects such as love, staying focused, having fun, street life, and living life to the fullest. His gift as a versatile songwriter has been proven on many occasions. He was personally chosen by the director of the Nets for his theme song he made for the team and Jay Z made him runner up on is contest to write the theme song for the New Jersey Nets. Welches also was a finalist for both of Black Planets Wired for Music contest. styles P from the group D block told the crowd, “ Welches is a great performer and definitely can make it in the industry.” Welches has performed at many places such as: The A&R power summit, The Warped Tour, 3 separate Mic Magazine events, Remote Lounge, Club Stealth, Club Cache, Canal Room, Club Divas, Flavas Lounge and so on. Welches has appeared in January’s 2008 VIBE Magazine as a finalist in a rap competition, nominated for Best Unsigned Rapper in the Metropolitan Awards and took home the grand prize in March at Diva’s Lounge for Best Rapper. Welches has had songs placed on various DVD's one including a funk flex and Underground Riders DVD.
Welches has been hitting the mixtape circuit and promoting his music in clubs throughout the world with an overwhelming response.
