just a lil' ole song writer
Just a lil' ole songwriter trying to get his . Everything you hear on this page was written, performed and produced by me. All of these songs were recorded in the early-to-mid 90's on some old, broken-down equipment. There are two exceptions. The song 'In America' was performed by my old band Galen Paris and the Critical Mass as a demo. And the song 'Taste of You' was recorded live with the same band.

Story behind the song
This song started with me messing around and finding a nice chord progression with the strings to go along with a nice, smooth drum track. The rest of the music flowed out of me. When I finished recording the music, I would push play, and just let it loop around for hours at a time while I laid on my back with my eyes closed just taking it in. It was in one of these times that my brothers cat came down to my studio and made some noise that caught my attention. So I put it in the song. Yes, there is actually a musical line in the chorus that I got from the cat. The lyrics came together after seeing a couple of stories on the news about child abuse.
