Story behind the song
A heartfelt love song inspired by the film 'the notebook' In the film. the main character loses his lady, not once, but twice. The first time, when he is conscripted in to the army, and his girlfriend's mother hides all his letters from the battlefield. Then, later on in life, he loses her (on and off) to dementia in old age.
Lyrics
Sitting here waiting for my ship to come Someone bring me my release Squeeze the thorn out of my other side Ease my burden bring me peace Things we want to say Deeds we want to do Funny how they never seem to happen Wish your life away Wait another day That's fine..... But now she's gone She's gone She's gone She's gone Sense of purpose seems to smother you You seem addicted to The Truth Mistakes are made and there's no turning back But you can learn much from your youth Things we want to say Deeds we want to do Funny how they never seem to happen Wish your life away Wait another day That's fine..... But now she's gone She's gone She's gone She's gone
