Story behind the song
While on the other side of the world, I got an inspiration then wish I hadn't.
My dads time was coming. I got to see him two weeks before. I was with him when he popped smoke (left). Two weeks before, he lived by himself, drove and was independent. As the most down to earth dignified man I've ever known; I could hear him saying, " whatcha been seeing here (himself) ain't who I am. " It was not. This song was written a month before he left.
R.I.P my pop, R.I.P
Lyrics
85 years old.
I lived a lifetime or two.
Never been easy, when all you've dones been on you.
Don't ask me where I'm going
if you don't give a damn.
Today's a different story,
whatcha been seeing ain't who I am.
So you been a few places,
go out and find you some more.
We all have our own way or we even up the score.
No one could ever, ever hold,
something over my head.
I Don't run around with the kind of people,
wouldn't have my back if I bled.
Go fight for the underdog,
but don't ever go to jail.
If it ain't the end of the world,
let the peace and love prevail.
No one could ever, ever hold,
something over my head.
I Don't run around with the kind of people,
wouldn't have my back if I bled.
