Raised in Ft. Worth, Texas, songwriter, rapper, singer, and author, Vigilante is what many have considered a modern day renaissance man. Vigilante's latest rap album, R: A Rebel's Rebellion, proves this rebel undoubtedly is one with a cause. The combination of Vigilante’s vocal rawness and lyrical artistry set him apart from other artists today. He compels his listeners with messages concerning personal and individual empowerment and the power and importance of each individual's Purpose. The album displays Vigilante's talents as a lyricist, an originality of sound and expression, and in-depth philosophical thought. Story behind the song
I wrote this song when it was revealed to me what I'm out to do in the music industry. And what that is, is rebel against the so-called-standards and stereotypes within the hip hop/rap industry as well as the music industry in general. Therefore, everything revolves around the concept for this song.
Lyrics
Rebel's Rebellion By: Vigilante Verse 1 Now I can see it Every time I walk these streets In the heart's Of every soul now that I meet The Bonaparte's, and the will's of heart's I'll burn this down And rip this world apart Up in flames Yeah, but don't you thank me It ain't my free will It's you making me Not my choice The power of my voice Cover your ears Revolts make a deafening noise Chorus Verse 2 Conversations every night Drag on and on It's like that voice Will never be gone Every page that turns Every line that screams Help me Lord I now know what it means Within an hour I go back and re-read It's all clear In the lines between Look at the prints What color? They blue This plan ain't just for me You know it's also for you Will you still Follow them sheep to sorrow Then be slaughtered By the shepherds tomorrow? It ain't all true About live and learn Regret will make Your ghost forever burn Chorus Verse3 Open them gates Bustin out, bustin in, charging through I will change this world With or without you You coward Now let the others Bob your head I'm entitled To kick your ass instead You endangered species Are all linked It's my rightful duty To make you extinct Explanation? Bitch buy my book Come face to face With the chances you wish you took You cop out crook It was you that sold your own soul Ignorance, you can't forget While I'm shakin' your bitches ass With my intellect (I do my job so damn well) Chorus If you a rebel Then rebel like hell And every rebel that rebels Give me that rebel yell "hell yeah" "hell yeah" say what? A rebel raises hell
