Raised in Ft. Worth, Texas, songwriter, rapper, singer, and author, Vigilante is what many have considered a modern day renaissance man. Vigilante's latest rap album, R: A Rebel's Rebellion, proves this rebel undoubtedly is one with a cause. The combination of Vigilante’s vocal rawness and lyrical artistry set him apart from other artists today. He compels his listeners with messages concerning personal and individual empowerment and the power and importance of each individual's Purpose. The album displays Vigilante's talents as a lyricist, an originality of sound and expression, and in-depth philosophical thought. Vigilante has recently completed the first of a multi-volume poetry book series entitled, Struggles of Internal Conquest, which is expected to be on shelves in the near future. Currently Vigilante is hard at work on his second major literary work, Why Are You Here? Real-izing, Pursuing, & Fulfilling Your Purpose, a philosophical non-fiction work encapsulating Vigilante's philosophical view points. Vigilante's versatile talents as a song writer, author, and of course as a recording artist, make for no surprise that major record labels have been focusing their attention upon him. Vigilante is currently working with Vision Music USA. Performing at various clubs in the Dallas, Ft. Worth area, Vigilante has captivated crowds with his riveting performances. Vigilante has been invited to play such venues as the Movement Festival in Tampa, Florida alongside such artists as Method Man, Cypress Hill, and Urban Legend. Vigilante's literary and philosophical influences have been: Ralph Waldo Emerson, Thomas Carlyle, Friedrich Nietzsche, Sǿren Kierkegaard, Henry Thoreau, Michel Montaigne, Epictetus, and 16th century theologian Martin Luther. Vigilante is a recent graduate from the University of Texas at Arlington earning his BA in History and a double minor in English Advanced Writing and Philosophy.

Story behind the song
What motivated me to write this song was thinking about what would occur or result from me following my Purpose in life. Therefore, my Purpose in life is my Conquest and the sacrifices in which must be made are the Consequences that I must be willing and prepared to make and accept. As I did this, I realized that each and everyone of us has our own individual Conquest in our lives and that each and everyone of us has our own individual Consequences as well. What's interesting about this song is that I had recorded a version of hit 5 months prior to this version, the official version, here. 5 months later I went into the studio to lay down the final verse and make a few adjustments but before I went into the studio I had made several changes in the song and ended up recording the entire song over and this is what resulted.
Lyrics
Consequence of Conquest By: Vigilante Transcending my reverie now unlock my dawn mark every single word it's on so hard for untimely men like me blood red with ambition now forever I will bleed for the past, present, & future forever tell Vigilant rebels who rebel like hell tell me, are you the man to follow your plan because you only must understand demand that you submit like a bitch to your will I'm drinking deep within my fountain of fortune until I get my fill Because life, you live, you love, & you lose And it's not for you to choose So pack your bags and tell me where will you go it's not what you're thinking in life, it's what you truly know Ask me, I'll confess I obsess My first consequence of my conquest Chorus Transcending my reverie now unlock my dawn mark every single word it's on so hard for untimely men like me blood red with ambition now forever I will bleed for the past, present, & future forever tell Vigilant rebels who rebel like hell If you're a victim of the consequence Then gather round, I'll burn you down My conquest Verse 2 Solitary, it's time to leave home but never lonely conquering the world alone hope, do, want, need, live, die, speak, or you can bleed or follow, but followers will never lead I'm wise beyond my years, I've stood and still I stand Your one of many men I stand alone the man All night and all my life I've prepared and I'll never stop until I'm there I can feel it it starts in my heart My brain the catalyst to intuition Will you make your mark? Another day and again you cry the world should be ashamed for how easily it's satisfied the time is now, will you follow the rest? The consequence of conquest Chorus 2 Verse 3 Tommy Carlyle talk to me now see they stop looking, but I kept working until I found finders...keepers....losers...weepers Nihilism...I'll demolish...fuck all you non-believers Show me a man, then show me his work That's got to hurt, that's what your life is worth But you're confused, conflicted by your culture Deny your life, there is your torture Rhetorical skill, logical science combined soon you'll find, my prophetic sign For every tomorrow will bear the gifts I bring Look deep within my kingdom, it reflects its king God's work won't be manifest by cowards Know thy Purpose, count thy hours To hell with rhyming words, rhyme your means Then begin finally to fulfill your end Defining moments (like these) define real men Realize...nothing more...nothing less A consequence of conquest Chorus Transcending my reverie now unlock my dawn mark every single word it's on so hard for untimely men like me blood red with ambition now forever I will bleed for the past, present, & future forever tell Vigilant rebels screaming rebel like hell If you’re a victim of the consequence Gather ‘round, I’ll burn you down My conquest
