Ballad of an old New York Myth.
fun melodic catchy raw rich simple play sophisticated memorable playful biting
Pop, catchy, riffy tunes with lyrics that tell a story. Un-perfect recordings, raw, in tune or outta tune doesn't matter.

Lyrics
Oh things aren't always what they seem and that's my take on the American dream I'd like to show Liberty where to shine her beam on the American way of life Fact I was watching TV when a commercial told Of New York streets all covered in gold They said come on buy before it gets sold That is the American way of life So I left my home in Duluth Minnesota To the tear that dropped by the old Dakota Came ready to fill my quota Of the American way of life I first applied to the DMV With my fancy pants and my college degree They put rubber boots and orange on me To pave way for the American life I pushed my bulldozer all through town But I didn't find a single piece of gold around Just people staring at a hole in the ground That is my American way of life Someone shouted the dream is what you make Whose dough you need whose bread you bake Go to Hell's Kitchen for god's sake For the American way of life I swam to a shark and borrowed some cash Shorted all my stocks before the market crashed Found the love of my life at a White House bash The American way of life
