It's about the songs. I'm not so much a singer-songwriter as a songwriter-singer. I do not fit into a genre. The genre fits the song. They range from rock to country ditties, from standard lounge ballads to power pop, from blue-eyed r&b to country rock. I sing almost all the vocals and play almost all the music (mostly on keyboard) but, as I said, it's about the songs.

Lyrics
The Walkin' Wounded Benny sitting in his car by the side of the highway Driver came along textin' about last night's par-tay Never saw Benny until the crash, then he drove away Benny cracked the windshield, sunk into a coma for 40 days Now he's walkin' around, just a little bit lame He's walkin' around, ain't all right in his brain Now he's walkin' around, but he'll never be the same Cause he's one of the walkin', walkin' wounded Now he's one of the walkin', walkin' wounded Yeah he's one of the walkin', walkin' wounded He's still alive, But just a little bit dead Sara missed her period two months straight, her boyfriend went MIA Couldn't bring herself to terminate, decided to give it away Carried that child to term all alone, left the hospital the same way Every May 1st now for 15 years, she whispers "Happy Birthday" Now she's walkin' around, takin' all the blame She's walkin' around, still feelin' ashamed Yeah, she's walkin' around, but she's never been the same Cause she's one of the walkin', walkin' wounded Now she's one of the walkin', walkin' wounded Yeah she's one of the walkin', walkin' wounded She's still alive, But she's a little bit dead There's woman over there lost her son, Lord, he was so young A man over there lost his wife, like he lost his own life See that girl there, she's been abused, she feels all used up That boy there, just needs a dad, but all he ever gets is mad They're all walkin' around, trying to hide They're all walkin' around, something's died They're all trying to hide something that's died inside They're all part of the walkin', walkin' wounded Yeah they all joined the walkin', walkin' wounded Just a few of the walkin', walkin' wounded They're still alive, they're still alive, But they're a little bit dead Next time you see them, you won't even know Maybe walking right beside you, you just never know So give 'em some slack, maybe let 'em slide 'Cause they just might be a little bit dead inside Yeah, maybe they're one of the walkin', walkin' wounded They could be one of the walkin', walkin' wounded We're all one of the walkin', walkin' wounded We're still alive, we're still alive, But we're a little bit dead © 2013 greg carannante
