Finger style and Acoustic Progressive guitar, flute, synth and Mellotron.
Welcome to the music of Carlo D'Anna's Ridiculous Dream music. Also known as "Dream Warrior" in some circles. Influences and music styles ranging from basic to progressive rock, with definite Retro seventies sound. If you enjoy the sound of Moody Blues, George Harrison, Genesis, Dead Can Dance, and others of the same style, more or less, you will probably like this music. I use quite a bit of Mellotron and acoustic fingerstyle guitar as well.

Story behind the song
If you have seen the documentary "Blackfish" you see the full story of the Orca whale named Tilikum. Kidnapped at birth by Sea World, separated from his mother and trained to perform in humiliation for the masses. Lately a high profile killing of a Sea World trainer by Tilikum has brought new perspective on what exactly is a killer whale and why they should not be warped into submission. Hopefully Sea World and other companies that exploit these kinetic majestic beings will stop this useless culling from the wild and let Whales. dolphins, and other sea creatures go free. As for Tilikum, I hope he is taken out of his isolation tank and put in a whale reserve or somewhere where he can finally escape the human grip. All proceeds for paid download goes to Blue Freedom.org.
Lyrics
Taken alive, trained to do a trick for a fish and to dive Flip tail for a crowd Make the monkeys laugh and then splash them around. Days turn into nghts, Days turn into years. O my god your a big boy now, gotta hide away those tears. Take them out to sea, there's a net 'round your body, net 'round your body. Send back the whale, he's on the run Send back the whale his time is done Send back the whale you've had your bloody fun. When you dive, do you jump for the show, do you give all your soul to, give all your soul to will you cry, will you cry for the sea! Will you give all your soul to give all your soul to. Send back the whale, he's on the run Send back the whale his time is done Send back the whale you've had your bloody fun.

I have watched "Blackfish"; I highly recommend others see it. On demand it, borrow it from the local library, or whatever. It's sad but worthwhile- almost dutiful as a citizen of the world. Great song subject matter, Carlo, and cool song too! Thanks for producing it!

I can hear you were very inspirited and touched by the subject where it's all about. The sound here is very "Carlo" and very retro. Reminds me of the 70's. Your special filters are here again. I totally agree with your view (but don't know the complete story yet). Very good to bring everyone's attention to this subject and when I get the chance I will look to the documentary. Really enjoyed this one. Good job!
Well done cuz enjoyed the song !

I love the way you can empathise in a song about all manner of things. You are a gifted song writer. fabulous textures throughout. We swee incredibly lucky to see a 3 Orcas in the sound when we took the ferry from Vancouver to Victoria early in June last year. Magnificent animals. Well done Carlo.

There are so many stories like this across the world and they are heartbreaking. When will human beings get off this superiority kick and start respecting other animals for their intelligence & their contribution to the planet? Great song and thanks for highlighting this story.

Great to bring attention to this major issue. Love the arrangement of the track. Has a fluid (watery) feel to it along with a 70's vibe. Terrific guitar movement throughout and of course your vocals are top notch.

Whoa, now I feel a little guilty for petting Orca at Seaworld back in '86... Mike has it dead on about the Jethro Tull comparison. Great classic rock feel presented - in your modern flare. Congrats once again Carlo!

First off, haven't seen the doc, but this is a good sounding song and I agree with your wishes for the cause. Great texturing and layers of sounds and your vocal timbre has that Ian Anderson flair - I could imagine this is as a Tull song - nice work on this one!
