1. En pleno invierno oscuro, el viento cargado de escarcha gemia al pasar.
La tierra estaba tan dura como el hierro, el agua coma la piedra.
La nieve habia caido, nieve sobre nieve, nieve sobre nieve.
En pleno invierno oscuro, hace mucho tiempo.

2. Dios, el cielo no puede retenerle, ni la tierra sostenerle,
el cielo y la tierra huiran cuando Él venga a reinar.
En pleno invierno oscuro, un establo fue bastante.
Senor Dios todopoderoso, Jesucristo.

3. Los angeles y arcangeles podrian haberse reunido alli,
los querubines y serafines abarrotaban el aire,
pero solo su madre, en su bendita virginidad,
