Very well done, Alex! You more than acheived the theme of your title, "Camel Dance". Because you captured the essence of the CBC Ancient Egypt Song Challenge with music fusion of world influences of Egyptian Music (from Africa to Middle East to Elsewhere), your song could have been in other Music Genre/Subgenre as well. Thus, although
the song was not "pure" as Egyptian/Ancient Music, I would
welcome the previous critique of Egyptian Music Critics/Experts, but take heart in the FACT that you have
created/played AN OUTSTANDING SONG CAPTURING THE
SPIRIT OF ANCIENT EGYPT. Bravo to you! And thank you for the dl of this song for JBBQ's Best of Best Music Station.

Camel Dance! you should have invited me to listen to this rather than to "Geisha Tautou", at least you know I am Egyptian!
Anyway, I really admire this musical experiment. However I feel I should point out some observations that may be useful in similar works in future.
1. good "capture of the rhythm as you said.
2. the scale is an Arab scale called "Hegaz" with a long distance (1 1/2 tone) between the 2nd & the 3rd tunes (bD, #E), but is basically a G minor scale spanning from D to D.
3. The same scale has a 3/4 note on its 6th tune. What I heard hear is a trial but is really off tune; I mean not a 3/4.
4. Fantastic use of the local string instrument "lute", also called "oud". The flute-like sound, should have been the local "nay" for real local atmosphere.
5. Vocals sound completely African; not Egyptian, nor Arab. Singing in Egypt never sounds tribal like that.
Once again I record my admiration of your high skills in appreciating various world musical cultures.
Cheers

There's just something about that rhythm that's irresistible - it transports you straight to the mystical Middle-East with its ancient culture and secrets. Fantastic work Alex - authentic sounds, wonderful melodic structure and professional production - great stuff!

This is def. the best piece in this challenge! The vocaltrack - violin - drumwork - everything in this piece is amazing.
Very cool hip hop thingy at 2.26 mark.
And the guitarlike instrument with the typhical arabic scale-phrasing is very good.
It sounds like you have hired a complete band from Kairo!
Fantastic work!

First time Ive seen an entry from you in a challenge since I joined..Love the percussion and belly dancing vibe, the fiddle/violin, all the interesting instruments all adding their unique touch to make this a very bona fide sounding middle eastern track especially with the little touch of husky vocals..
Very well executed!!

It is complicated when one of the best artist on SC already commented a track (!), in fact Al caught extremely good and exactly the feeling and impression I´ve got listening to this "Capolavoro" my friend!!
Not only the choice of instrumentations, the bulding of the track, breaks, changes, colors, but everything is absolutely mirroring that wonderful land we call EGYPT!!Stunning vocals, deep profound rythmic base that litterally call out the emotions of the listeners ....yes I love it!
My compliments to you Musan Dera, I agree with Al, this is the best work ( or at least one of your best ) I´ve heard from you: not China, but Egypt ( you know what I mean ) exactely, you hit the Challenge Theme perfectly!! :) :)

This is an adventurous excursion into Arabian/Egyptian terra firma that definitely stirred the senses. You captured the rhythm of the land so amazingly. The instrumentation is so authentic and rich in tone and mood.
This track is nothing short of a FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE. One of the best of evening. You grabbed the theme and did wonders with it. Terrific change at 2:26…and the timing change at the outro was pure genius. Some of your best work in my opinion. You work continue to amaze me. Bravo!
I like the way the rhythm is the focus of this track. You have created a unique and captivating piece of music, with many musical elements and a superb atmosphere.
