Ecstatic Wave is a predominantly acoustic band that decided to record a few of their more popular songs to put on "Experiences" which is an album that's still i
In 2008, Shane and April were introduced to one another and found that although they came from very different musical back grounds, they both shared the same passion for music. April had been writing lyrics/poems about life experiences since age 14, and was just learning to play guitar, while Shane was a music major in college and had previously played drums in several bands including "Quihi Triple Threat.". In the beginning, the ultimate goal for Ecstatic Wave was for Shane to play drums and for April to play rhythm guitar. Of course, that was with the expectation of the duo finding a lead guitarist and bassist, and possibly a keyboardist. As time went on and other band additions flaked out, Shane adapted more to the lead guitar role in the band to fill in the gaps. The two then started playing shows on two electric guitars with no bassist or drummer in hopes that more promising members would come along soon. However, even with the two distorted electric guitars, they were no match for the hardcore bands that they were booked with. In early 2010, Ecstatic Wave decided that it would be best to switch over to playing acoustic guitars until they found a drummer and bassist. However, after playing a few acoustic shows, they experienced some of their best reactions yet, and decided to take their music in that direction.

Story behind the song
This song was written after hanging out with some friends who play a lot of reggae. We decided to throw in a couple extra surprises as well. The lyrics to the song are about lead singer April's mom, who has done some quirky things in her time!
Lyrics
You always liked to volunteer my guy friends to help you with chores Afterall, to your understand that's all that men are good for You used to borrow almost anything from Walmart, no matter the condition it could be returned You traded cash for food stamps and the worst part Your friend would buy drugs with the money you earned Another mother just living off of Wellfare Ohohhhh Smoking pot all day in front of her kids without a care Ohohh, oh oh Mom do you enjoy trying to embarrass me? It's hard to think you never do it purposely I never walked a day inside your shoes So I don't understand those crazy things that mothers do I came over just the other day and saw a port-a-potty in your bedroom You bragged and told me that it was great that you didn't have to walk far to use the bathroom Almost every time we speak you're suckered into another stupid scam to get rich or lose weight fast Always think one day you'll win the lottery Just one more pot to ensure your current funds won't last Always talking to strangers 'bout dumb things I did as a kid Ohohh While I'm standing there with red cheeks wishing those were times you'd forget Ohohh, Oh Oh Mom do you enjoy trying to embarrass me? It's hard to think you never do it purposely I never walked a day inside your shoes So I don't understand those crazy things that mothers do This is Shane B, I'm coming at you 1, 2 3 I went over to your house last week Went inside to take a leak I saw your mom, she looked at you, looked at me Said "Shane can mow the law" I said "YO, MOW THE LAWN!?!?!? I DIDN'T COME HERE TO HELP YO MOM!!!!" Mom do you enjoy trying to embarrass me? It's hard to think you never do it purposely I never walked a day inside your shoes So I don't understand those crazy things that mothers do
