Story behind the song
My final version of some original video game music. The first version had some very bad audio glitches, which I discovered how to edit out. The guitars are all completely re-recorded. This is a composition I plan to use in my own game project, which I am currently calling Xybwa's Quest. The music is loosely based on the "overworld" theme from Dragon Warrior (also known as Dragon Quest), which I think was the premier Nintendo Entertainment System RPG. I changed the duple meter to triple and forced the flute melody into a Major Phrygian mode in the key of E. This composition reminds me of wandering through a dark, creepy woods, not knowing what strange creature might be lurking behind the trees.
