The songs of songwriter Russell J Adams from Lawrenceville, GA
Heart felt describes the way I've approached songwritng ever since I first started writing lyrics in 1977. Crafting thought provoking lyrics then combining them with exciting music to deliver the songs message has always been the goal of every songwriter, myself included.

Story behind the song
A young lady I worked with at the time told me of her cheap weekend get away, "because a real vacation was out of reach." As she finished telling me her tale, she summed it up by saying, "It's a miracle I'm not wanted in Dothan (by the police)," seeing that she and her roommate had stolen gas and groceries from a convenience store when the cashier turned a blind eye. The events in the song are all based on her real life experience, which unfolded for me in a lyric my friend Ronnie Winstead added music for. Please overlook my frail attempt at singing this.
