I am the proud father of two adult children. I have been playing the guitar for various church bands for over 25 years. All of these songs are original and reflect a preference to Christian music with a country rhythm.

Story behind the song
This song is for all Daddys who still love their little girls – no matter how old they are and regardless of where life has led them. Throughout the years there remains that undying love and unconditional acceptance for that one whom they have nourished and cherished throughout the years. Such love is the mirror image of the type of love that our heavenly Father has for each one of His children.
Lyrics
She knows that she hurt you when she left so fast on that long ago dreadful day She saw the tears just behind your eyes as you promised that you'd always pray A world of wonder – the land of her dreams all the joy she could ever find Like a cosmic pull on her child-like heart that wouldn't let go of her mind But you still set a place at the table for her in the hope that she'll be there And you keep her room all swept and clean as a way to say you still care So you check the mail for a letter each day from where ever she might roam Hoping each time for those magic words – Daddy can I come home How many times has she dialed the call to that number she's always known But before you answer the panic comes and she hurries to hang up the phone She fears for what you might think of her if you knew all the things that she's done But of all the people who could still love her - she knows you're the only one Today you're standing in the pouring rain as the bus pulls into the bay Your face appears in the expectant crowd and she wonders just what she should say (All) The words she practiced don't matter now and the only thing that she knows Is just how much you can still love her in spite of where ever she goes 'Cause you still set a place at the table for her in the hope that she'll be there And you've kept her room all swept and clean as a way to say you still care So you've checked the mail for a letter each day from where ever she might roam Just the other day she said those words – Daddy can I come home?
