Lake Fork Verne and his banjo. Original country and Americana songs. Songs of yesteryear, growing up during the great depression 1930's and the way things are
Just me and my banjo...writing and singing about how things used to be long ago in the 30;s and 40's and how those experiences affect today. I started out wanting to get on record these stories and songs for my grandchildren; but after doing it for a while, others have expresses interest so we are recording and putting them out there.

Let Go Copyright By: Verne Garrison November 16, 2008 Banjo Key D Tuned E, Capo 1 Let Go D G D The Summit Years, is what Burroughs called them A In his final volume from old River-by D G D And as I approach four-score A D I begin to see why G D An optimist would say that I am in my autumn years, A The pessimist, that it is winter-time for sure G D All I know is, I live each day with less fear A D Most of my moments now, I hold dear G D I didnt become this way overnight A The ebb and flow of living my life D G D With Gods help, most things are set right A D Most of all, I am blessed with my wonderful wife G D I have learned, so it would seem, A Things are never as good as they seem G D And things are never as bad as they seem A7 D Most always, it is somewhere in between G D So these days, when my head hits the pillow at night A I try to gather the days events into tow D G D Sort out those I have done wrong, and those done right A D Turn them over to God, and Let Go E7 A Yes, it is His will, not mine D A D Give them to God, and Let Go
