Lyrics
Dead Man's Hand
In Dakota Territory,in the wild town of deadwood
Jack was playing poker,he lost more than he should
Wild Bill took all his money down at the old saloon
Then said "here's a couple of dollars Jack but don't you come back too soon"
Jack felt humiliated and with vengeance on his mind
The next night he was back,he'd been drinking for some time
Wild Bill was at the table but he couldn't see McCall
His usual seat was taken so he's facing to the wall
He had aces and eights,it's called the dead man's hand
Ever since thatpoker game at Nuttal and Mann's
Was it just fate or was the whole thing planned
Jack just thought he had to make a stand
Jack stepped up from behind, pulled out his 44
"Take that" he cried,a shot rung out and Bill slumped to the floor
Now there lay Wild Bill Hickok,in a spreading pool of blood
And still there in his fingers, his last hand of five card stud
He had aces and eights,it's called the dead man's hand
Ever since that poker game at Nuttle and Mann's
Was it just fate or was the whole thing planned
Jack got some glory but it got him hanged
When laters Jack arrested, found guilty of the offense
He showed no remorse, said he'd do it all again
So they swung him from the gallows but now he's lying still
And the cards no longer shuffle, for the legend called Wild Bill
He had aces and eights,it's called the dead man's hand
Ever since that poker game at Nuttle and Mann's
Was it just fate or was the whole thing planned
Jack got some glory but it got him hanged
Yea Jack got some glory but it got him hanged
Aces and eights
Aces and eights
Aces and eights
Aces and eights
Dead man's hand
The dead man's hand
Dead man's hand
Dead man's hand
