Their day started off in the wee hours
with the call that it was time.
That new grand-ma to be on auxiliary power
said, “I'm comin'!” then hung up the line.
A country mile later, well, nine in the evenin' 
Connor finely appeared,
both sets of grand-ma's, both sets of grand-pa's 
were grinnin', holdin' back tears.

Now things will be different while staying the same.
Grand-ma's and grand-pa's know the rules to this game.
They'll be there when they're needed and they won't inter-fear.... .
Grinnin' and laughin' and holdin' back tears.

Life is beginnin' and all they have goin'
now will be centered on him.
The key to success at this stage in their marriage,
