Story behind the song
This song is for the Coconut Blues Club (CBC) Daydreams Song Challenge on July 6, 2013 at 9PM/UK on SoundClick. SWAN SONG is also JBBQ's actual official "swan song" - that is, our final curtain on Dr. Bob's Jazz Boppin' Bebop Quartet - JBBQ - as we know it. See NEWS announcement at top of Artists's Page and related songs for futher information. JBBQ gives special thanks to our great friend and outstanding musician Mike Bennett (aka: FendrGuitPlayr on SoundClick) for inspiring the song title, SWAN SONG, and the inherent music essence. On July 11, 2012, Mike made a written comment about our JBBQ Song 900 entitled "101 MORE TO GO". In our song's description we announced, for the first time, our intention to "ride into the Sunset" after completing about 1001 JBBQ Songs. After kind words about our 900th song, Mike said: "I'll bet that your swan song is already in the making?" And indeed it was - at that moment - with his so perceptively logical SWAN SONG question!
