Story behind the song
An alien fanfare heralds sequenced bells/strings with a dream-like backdrop. The first verse emerges followed by a powerful bass line which is then reinforced by a electro drum beat. This all passes seamlessly into a chorus with melodic solo guitar. Pulsing sequenced instruments and rhythms create a emotional high which is then quite suddenly broken down to a mid section consisting of minimal bass, pipes and VCS3 soundeffects. A female voice chants “What are you thinking?”. Drums create a hypnotic state together with string chords, “It makes me think about history”. Orchestral verses and choruses ebb and flow river-like spawning clarinet/oboe twisting melodies. The structure gradually reduces in layers until all that is left is the string/bell riff that introduced the piece.
