Welcome to my MP3 Website for "The Steel Scream Project" (or TSSP for short) on SoundClick.com. my name is Troy Donoughue and I'm a singer / songwriter from Winter Haven, Florida. Here you can listen to some of the many songs that I have written and recorded throughout my music career. I currently have over 40 songs in my song portfolio which includes many full length CD's, and a Retrospective DVD as well.
Story behind the song
In 2002 when Doodle and I were both working on our solo albums, I was busy making my solo album using all my recordings from 1992 while Doodle was recording new music. I suggested to Doodle to add music to one of my songs, and that he could use it on his solo album. Doodle created a haunting song musically with these lyrics about a man who loses his vision.
Lyrics
Lyrics written in June 2000; Music written in 2002
(1st Verse)
Depressed and aggravated, he's lost his sanity,
a lonely man, no longer gives a damn about his needs.
Anger is his hatred, hatred is all he sees,
the color black is all he attracts to his immortality.
*(Chorus)
No he never saw it comin', no he never would have seen,
final eyes, final eyes, no longer can he see.
(2nd Verse)
Torn inside and ruined, the cries of disbelief,
he won't accept, he only rejects the truth, his pain, his grief.
Living in his own Hell, so dark emotionally,
the pain inside is where he subsides, so deep internally. *
(2nd Chorus)
No he never saw it comin', no he never would have seen,
his own demise of his own two eyes, a vicious living dream.
No he never saw it comin', no he never would have seen,
final eyes, final eyes, the end of what used to be.
No he never saw it comin', no he never could have seen,
final eyes, final eyes, no longer can he see.
