Artist picture
Two gentlemen on a train bound for glory.
When Brandon Pfeltz met Mike Perrie serving time on the chain gang in the red mountains of Maryland, the two immediately hatched a plan for escape. Mike, serving a life term for bank robbery had a family and a home, while Brandon, a free-drifting ragamuffin chained up for prostitution had a beloved dog to look after. One cold night in October, the two escaped from their bondage and made a run for the border. The two met up with legend Woody Guthrie, who in exchange for a place on their boxcar, taught them to play the guitar. After a fight erupted over a gambling debt and an empty flask of whiskey, the three parted ways. For years, they've made their living traveling from town to town, spreading their songs to any listener that they can, willing or not.

Lyrics
Left a girl on the Lower East Side She could not keep me but she tried, oh Lord she tried. Walked away without saying goodbye. And she said, "I won't wait for you." 'Cause if you're gone for fame Well you, might just lose And before you know it you've got to choose. If you're chasing stars, Do you risk the fall? Where you find your dreams meant Nothing at all. Found a home in Memphis blues But I got tired of walking those same ol' blue suede shoes. While she was sleeping I was gone, Oh I traded my life in for a song. A song that keeps playing While I toss and turn in this bed that I've made in The hardships I'm playing. And though I know now That this here ain't no game I just keep rolling on. Silver screens and empty hearts Couldn't find the shining in those Hollywood stars so I Left to go back to the start Knowing she won't wait for you. 'Cause if you're gone for fame Well you, might just lose And before you know it you've got to choose. If you're chasing stars, Do you risk the fall? Where you find your dreams meant Nothing at all.
